Fastheads machining was created as the result of Brent Kirk’s 50-year history in the motorcycle industry. The demands of the current 4-stroke race motors prompted the creation of a specific machining business to handle the high RPM valve train and precise machining needed for both reliability and performance.
Brent’s motorcycle and technical skills developed during a stay in Japan on an air force base. His junior high school shop teacher was a motorcycle racer and taught the basics of auto mechanics on motorcycles. How cool is that! Brent’s first race bike was a modified Yamaha 1969 90cc HT1 dirt bike. At 64 and hundreds of bikes later, he now rides a modified Husky FE350. He raced motocross, flat track and desert for over 35 years. His three sons have all been experienced racers.
Business’s he’s owned and operated: Formula racing products, Kirk’s Precision Cycle, Maniac Sports, Pro Cycle, Zion Motocross Association, Mesquite Raceway and now Fastheads.
Shops he’s managed or worked as a tech: Carey’s cycle center, DG Performance, Plaza Cycle, Cycle Inn, SWC Kawasaki, Mission Yamaha, Stephen Wade Powersports, Perry Brothers, GL Equipment.
In his own words:
“The powersports business has been a way of life for me. The camaraderie and friendships I’ve made while racing and working has given me a lifetime of fulfillment and pride. I hope I die doing what I love most. Learning cutting edge technologies and sharing that knowledge with my friends and customers.”
